Osteopathy

Do you have neck pain, back pain, sciatica, headaches/migraines, scoliosis, joint pain? Or does your child have chronic ear infections, a funny way of walking, colic or feeding problems? These are just a few of the conditions osteopathy can treat, frequently with great success!

Osteopathic manipulative medicine (OMM), also known as osteopathy or osteopathic manipulative treatment (OMT), is a gentle hands on holistic medical treatment done by a licensed physician that provides a natural, drug free approach to the diagnosis and treatment of a wide variety of musculoskeletal and nervous system problems such as back pain, neck pain, and headaches. By addressing the cause of pain and dysfunction, osteopathy restores balance and normal function to the musculoskeletal system (bones, ligaments, muscles, nerves, joints, and connective tissue) and nervous system (brain, spinal cord, nerves).

In our South Austin office, we offer osteopathic treatment to patients of all ages and conditions, including infants, children, pregnant women, those in fragile condition, and elite athletes. Osteopathic treatment is typically covered by insurance if we are in network for your plan.

Frequently, patients are astonished that one or two simple osteopathic treatments can greatly improve their quality of life by relieving pain and improving mobility, improving sleep, and decreasing their need for medications.

We believe osteopathic treatment offers patients better medical care and better results at decreased cost.

Unfortunately, if you have symptoms that don’t fit the “traditional” medical paradigm that most physicians have been trained to understand, you’ll likely be told “it’s all in your head” or “you’ll have to live with it”. In many cases, this isn’t true. There is a reason you’re having these symptoms, and most likely osteopathy can help address it.

"I have had rapid and substantial relief for a problem which had stubbornly resisted chiropractic and medical care (even including multiple steroid injections) for years. I cannot recommend Dr. Lytle-Vieira highly enough."
